About the Preferred Contractor Program

First Source Law helps real estate brokers, agents, and appraisers make thousands of dollars through our Preferred Contractor program. We work closely with these real estate professional to help our clients obtain loan modifications.  A vital part of the loan modification process is obtaining Broker Price Opinions (BPO's) on client property.

Who is Eligible

Any licensed real estate broker, agent or appraiser who is in good standing with their licensing authority.

What Work is Involved

Part of our loan modification service requires that a real estate professional provide a Broker Price Opinion. The input assists our attorneys and the client. We only work with licensed real estate agents or brokers and real estate appraisers who have become preferred contractors.

How Work is Assigned

The work is assigned one of two ways. The most common way is that the person you referred requests that you complete the BPO for their property. The second way is we assign you a BPO for a client of ours based on your geographic location or other factors.

All clients that your refer to us will be encouraged by us to choose you to perform the BPO. If the client chooses you as the real estate professional who assists us, you will need to complete the BPO by logging into your account that we create for you. Once there, you will download, complete and return the Broker Price Opinion form. The requested information will include information about the property, such as appreciation or depreciation of homes in the neighborhood, city, or zip-code, plus any additional comments you wish to submit regarding market trends.

Compensation

The payment for BPO comes out of the law firm's fee for the service and the client is not charge extra for it.

Payment is disbursed within 15 days after the BPO is completed. You or your broker are responsible for any taxes or withholdings from payment.

Becoming a preferred contractor requires reading training material presented at the end of this orientation and accepting the terms and conditions that are presented at the end of the orientation.
